Laughter, Faith, and Healing: A Spiritual Brooklyn Coaching Experience

The Missing Pieces: Life and Business Coaching in Brooklyn

In September, we built structure and consistency. In October, we are shifting into purpose—finding it, creating it, and living it. Here’s something we don’t often talk about: laughter. Yes, laughter can be one of the most powerful ways to unlock meaning in your life. And if you’ve ever wondered whether joy can be a doorway to purpose, let’s explore that together. Because purpose driven Coaching doesn’t have to be heavy—it can be light, playful, and yes, it can be a Spiritual Brooklyn Coaching Experience.

Why Laughter Really Is the Best Medicine

We’ve all heard the saying: laughter is the best medicine. It isn’t just a cliché—it’s a truth backed by both science and spirit. When we laugh, our body releases endorphins, our brain chemistry shifts, and our perspective opens. Laughter resets our nervous system, softens tension, and brings us back into the present moment.

Even forced laughter has benefits. The body doesn’t always know the difference between genuine laughter and a faked chuckle. The act itself can still release “feel-good” chemicals and bring relief. In a world where so many feel stuck in jobs, marriages, or life routines that feel purposeless, laughter is a natural reset button.

Faking It Till You Make It

The best advice I ever received was simple: fake it till you make it. On the surface, it might sound shallow. In practice, it can be transformational.

There was a season in my life where this principle wasn’t just helpful—it was life-saving. Inside a mental institution, I faced a moment of truth. I could conform, take the prescribed pills that dulled my spirit, and live like a zombie.

Or I could trust my relationship with my higher power, fake the compliance long enough to survive, and walk toward a drug-free, purpose-filled future.

It wasn’t easy. It took courage. It also took faith. And it taught me this: sometimes the act of pretending for a short while—whether it’s smiling, laughing, or holding onto hope—opens the door to genuine transformation.

The Relationship Between Faith, Laughter, and Purpose

Laughter is more than a reaction—it’s a relationship with yourself and your Creator. It’s a reminder that even in dark seasons, joy can be found. This is interesting- Did you know that Joy is not necessarily an emotion, it is a relationship you have with your emotions. Meaning, you can have a joyous celebration of life even in death, you can experience joy in a moment of suffering.

Faith plays the same role. Where faith leads, laughter often follows.

When I couldn’t see purpose, I had to trust that it would reveal itself. When I couldn’t find joy, I laughed anyway, even if it felt forced. And over time, the forced laughter became genuine. The fake smile became real. The heavy days became lighter.

This is the art of laughter—it’s not about denying pain – it is about choosing not to let it define you. It’s about creating space for purpose to enter, even when you can’t feel it yet.

Science Catches Up With Spirit

What I learned through lived experience, science is only now beginning to confirm. Our bodies are medicine-producing environments. Every breath we take, every laugh we allow, and every choice to smile activates our internal pharmacy—releasing chemicals like serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin.

We don’t need external fixes in all cases. Often, the warehouse of healing already exists within us. We simply need to access it. Laughter, breath work, journaling, and meditation are powerful keys to unlock that inner medicine chest.

My Story, Your Invitation

If you think you cannot laugh, journal, or breathe your way through challenges, I want you to know this: you can. I am living proof. And I share the full story—the raw details, the moments of struggle, and the breakthroughs—in my book, which you can find easily inside the Transformational Gangstas app.

It’s a story of resilience, of finding medicine inside myself when outside solutions failed me, and of trusting my higher power to guide me into freedom. It’s proof that purpose can be created even in the most purposeless-feeling seasons.

Can Coaching Be a Spiritual Experience?

Let’s circle back to the question we’re asking all month: can Life or even Business Coaching be a Spiritual Experience? The answer is still YES. Coaching at its highest level isn’t just about goals and strategies. It’s about holding sacred space to discover the medicine already inside you—the laughter, the joy, the faith, the breath that heals.

A coaching relationship can remind you to smile before you answer the phone, to laugh even when you don’t feel like it, and to keep breathing through the hard days. It becomes a partnership where both structure and spirit combine to create lasting transformation.

Closing Thoughts

Laughter is not frivolous—it is foundational. It is medicine, it is purpose, and it is power. When you allow yourself to laugh, even in the midst of struggle, you are choosing to align with joy, faith, and freedom.

This October, as we continue our journey into purpose, let’s remember that we don’t always have to find joy—we can create it. We can fake it till we make it. And in doing so, we may discover that one of the most profound ways to find meaning is through laughter itself. If you are ready to explore this further, to connect to your own internal warehouse of healing, and to step into purpose with both structure and joy, then perhaps coaching is your next Spiritual Coaching Brooklyn Experience.
