Life Coach Lessons on Finding Balance in a World That Never Stops Spinning

In a world that feels like it’s constantly spinning faster and the noise seems to be getting louder, being a Life Coach doesn’t mean I’ve figured out how to stop the world or quiet all the noise — it means I’ve learned how to find balance while it spins. Balance, to me, isn’t about a perfectly even life where everything fits neatly in its box. It’s about learning to dance between chaos and calm, work and rest, giving and receiving — without losing yourself in the process.
When I sat down to write about finding your life’s purpose through balance, I laughed out loud. Not because it’s funny — because it’s real. People come to me thinking I’m going to teach them how to create a “balanced life.” Balance, my friend, is not a destination. It’s a moment-to-moment recalibration — a constant, conscious practice of coming home to yourself. How do I know? Because I failed at it a million times. The difference between me and you or me and them you ask? I am relentlessly focused like a dog on a bone. Fitting since I am born the year of the Dog- 1970!
You see, before I became a Solutionizer™, I thought balance meant perfection. I thought I had to have my finances, relationships, and emotions aligned before I could even begin to serve my purpose. What I learned, after years of breaking down, getting back up, and breaking again, is that balance is not stillness. It’s motion. It’s grace under pressure. And the TRUTH is that I am NOT always graceful. Oftentimes I break down and back to my self-accountability to mean what I say and say what I mean.
When I was face down on a cold floor inside a mental institution — yes, literally — I didn’t know I was actually being invited to build balance from the inside out. That rock bottom became my reset button. Balance began with breathing. With forgiving myself. With choosing not to identify as “broken” but instead as unbreakable. That’s what I now call the first lesson of balance: own your mess before it owns you.
And when you cannot find Balance- Move on like I did. I found Balance did not even exist for me! So many of us are chasing “work-life balance,” what we really crave is harmony. Harmony doesn’t mean everything plays the same note. It means everything is working together, even the dissonant parts. In your job, relationships, healing, and purpose, there will always be tension — tension is where growth happens.
Balance isn’t what happens when everything is easy. It’s what you build when everything feels impossible.
And that’s the true work of a Life Coach: helping people find peace in the movement, not in the stillness. And the job of a true Life Coach and Mentor is to share from experience, not from interpretations learned in a book. When you stop trying to “fix” balance and instead begin to flow with it, you discover that balance isn’t something outside of you — it’s something you practice daily and get into a harmonious relationship with your life. If you don’t like it, change it.
