By embracing the sensory experiences, we can awaken to the beauty of existence and reclaim our power to become co-creators of our reality.
The journey of living through your Inner Mobster, the victim to your Inner Mentor, the victor begins with a shift in perception—a conscious choice to view life through the lens of gratitude and appreciation. Each of our five senses lets us experience the amazing world around us. From the vibrant colors of a sunset to the soothing song of a bird, every sensation serves as a reminder of the precious gift of life.
Sight: Take a moment each and every day to look at the world with fresh eyes, noticing the details of nature, the expressions of loved ones, and the amazing things people create. Take note of all the little details you notice that you might not have otherwise. Allow yourself to get lost in the beauty that surrounds you, finding joy in the simplest of moments.
Sound: Tune into the sounds surrounding you, from the gentle rustle of leaves in the wind to the laughter of children at play. Challenge yourself, see if there are sounds you would not have heard if you didn’t take the moment to listen. Let the melodies of life uplift your Inner mentor and remind you that all things are connected.
Touch: Embrace the sensations that ground you in the present moment, whether it’s the warmth of sunlight on your skin, the softness of a loved one’s touch, or the texture of the earth beneath your feet. Ask yourself what it is about each feeling that you seem to enjoy. Let each sensation remind you of your natural connection and belonging ability.
Taste: Indulge in the flavors and textures of different foods, savoring each bite as a celebration of abundance and energy. Step outside your comfort zone and try new foods or drinks you have previously avoided. Let the act of eating become a mindful practice, allowing you to engage fully with the sensory experience of nourishment.
Smell: Inhale deeply and allow the world to awaken your senses, from the intoxicating aroma of blooming flowers to the comforting scent of home-cooked meals. Close your eyes and focus on the scents around you, can you tell each scent without looking? Let each smell transport you to a place of comfort, peace and ease, reminding you of the beauty in the present moment.
By embracing the full range of sensory experiences, we reclaim our power to shape our reality and live authentically. As we affirm our intention to celebrate each moment, we affirm our worthiness and capacity for joy. Let’s declare that life is a gift to be savored and celebrated and let our senses be our guide on this journey of self-discovery and transformation.
